Join us as author Jennifer Coburn discusses her new historical novel The Girls of the Glimmer Factory which centers Hannah Kaufman, a Jewish prisoner at the Theresienstadt ghetto/camp the Nazis created for propaganda films and Red Cross inspections. Hannah longs to join her family who fled Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia, praying the war will come to an end quickly. Reluctant to join the resistance, Hannah cannot pass up the opportunity to derail a propaganda film being shot where her former best friend is now on the crew of the fake documentary about the flourishing settlement, Hitler’s “gift to the Jews.”
