Universities were once venerated oases of research, study, and meaningful discourse. In today’s charged climate, is that still true? What will cherished Universities be like in the future? Two illustrious educators in conversation with each other and the audience share their perspectives. Dr. Peter Salovey is a Professor of Psychology at Yale University, and was formerly the Dean, Provost, and for 11 years President. He also is a celebrated researcher in emotions, having written the initial academic paper coining the term “Emotional Intelligence.” Rabbi Meir Soloveichik is one of the leading thinkers and teachers in America, and currently on faculty of Yeshiva University. His podcasts Bible 365 and Jerusalem 365 have legions of avid listeners. This conversation will be moderated by UCSD Cosmologist and Professor of Physics, Brian Keating, whose acclaimed podcast Into the Impossible, Losing the Noble Prize, and Into the Impossible: Think Like a Noble Prize Winner: Think Like a Noble Prize Winner explore how we understand the world, scientifically and as humans.
